With as much as I am a sugar addict… I know when there is too much in my house. I also know I have to get it out as quickly as possible.
This candy has become a problem.
The kids ask for it every day, I eat it every day… and somehow it hasn’t made a dent in it. I’m swimming in sugary candy goodness. It’s a love-hate relationship. Continue reading “Candy Cookies – Make These Tonight”
I’ll be completely transparent with you. I start planning for Halloween as soon as 4th of July passes. I know for some that is way too early to start thinking about the end of October, but for me it can’t come soon enough.
I’m totally in love with all things fall. It’s absolutely my favorite time of year. The tricky thing is I live in South Florida. It is still pretty warm considering the year is coming to an end. On good days we drop out of the 90’s. Continue reading “How We Halloween”
Living in Florida there is no shortage on pirate anything. We actually took a family trip to St. Augustine this year and soaked up anything and everything pirate.
Did you know that September 19th every year is International Talk like a Pirate Day? You know what that means? It means that in my house we go all out pirate! Here are a few easy ways to make today a little more special. Continue reading “International Talk Like a Pirate Day”
When I saw that National S’mores Day was this week I had no other choice than to think about what type of s’mores goodness I could make. I is still way too hot in South Florida to actually enjoy going out and making them the classic way, so that option was off the table.
What I could do was make a S’mores cake. I say cake loosely because it really just is a fancy brownie. So I guess you could say I made a S’mores brownie cake. Continue reading “S’mores Cake”
Did you know it’s Shark Week? It’s one of those things that I never really paid attention to until I had little boys scooting around the house. The two groups of people that know the most about sharks, I believe, are marine biologists and 5-year-old boys.
Of course, since it is Shark Week we have been talking a lot about the ocean and its animals. This originally started out as Galaxy Ice Cream since we had been talking about space so much but it easily transitioned into Deep Ocean Ice Cream (the colors were pretty much the same so I went with it). Continue reading “Deep Ocean Swirl Ice Cream”
I didn’t really know Moon Day was a thing until I randomly saw it posted somewhere. So I dug a little further to find out more. Moon Day is the anniversary of the first time we walked on the moon. 7/20/69. So each July 20th is now “Moon Day”. Now you know. Continue reading “Why Does the Moon Have Craters??? Moon Day Activity”
Soooooo… in all truth, this project started in the spring as an Easter project. The project was finished. However, I failed to post it on my blog. No worries. 🙂 Since this project is something I made to go with all the holidays I can post it now. Continue reading “Easy and Simple Farmhouse 4th of July Decorations”
Earth Day is almost here!!!!
OK… maybe it’s not that exciting, but wanting to get the kids involved in helping our planet, I knew we needed to do something with seeds. We planted vegetables a couple of weeks ago and the boys have been so excited to water them and check on them every day, I knew I needed to keep that excitement going. Continue reading “Earth Day Seed Pods”
I have a love and hate relationship with pie. I either LOVE a pie to no end, or won’t touch it. Most pie crusts I’m not a fan of. Weird right? Maybe that’s my next project, to make a pie crust I like. Continue reading “Happy National Pie Day – Southern Chess Pie”
My husband and I decided years ago that we stay home on New Year’s Eve. There is just something fun about ringing in the New Year with your kids. Sure, we invite people over but it is nothing over the top…each year we add a little something new to our celebration as we build traditions. Take advantage of all of the Christmas decorations on sale and grab anything that is gold or sparkly. Think noisemakers, confetti, and glitter!
